The Scythe Fuma 2 CPU Cooler Review: Best 120mm Cooler Ever!

Introduction
Here at TBG, we have a thing for coolers. In fact, at this point, we’ve tested more coolers than any other PC component, with well over 40 under our belt. That means we have a very good sense of what the best models are, and what makes for a great cooler. And while it’s true that coolers can live much longer lives than most PC components, the technology does in fact improve over time, which means the cooler that someone named “best ever” in 2010 or 2013 almost certainly isn’t worth buying today. And that’s why we keep at it, testing cooler after cooler in order to make sure we can always give you, or readers, the best advice.
So it’s with great pleasure that we introduce you to Scythe’s latest and most amazing creation, the Fuma 2. Coming in at a retail price of $60, it’s a dual-fan, dual-tower cooler designed to fit in compact cases thanks to its offset design and 120mm-class fans. We installed in our Cooler Master H500P Mesh and pushed our Intel Core i9-9900K to the limit, and it didn’t break a sweat!
Special thanks to Scythe for providing a review sample of the Scythe Fuma 2.
The Test
As with all of our reviews at this point and going forward, this review appears exclusively on YouTube, which you can see below. Not only do we show you what comes in the box and share some impressive benchmarks, but we also provide a complete installation guide for the Intel 1151 socket as well!

Final Thoughts
Based on our results, there is clearly only one way we can possibly conclude: this thing is amazing! Scythe somehow took the performance of its Fuma, which won our 120mm cooler shootout in 2017, and made it infinitely more likable thanks to much better motherboard and RAM compatibility, a much easier installation process, and much better fans.
Now one quick note: this is the only high-end air cooler that is fully-compatible with our very tall Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR4-3600 RAM, which automatically won it extra points. More points for being able to fit in many small form factor systems. And a few more points for being shockingly-quiet.
So, with that said, we can absolutely recommend the Scythe Fuma 2 – it’s available for $60 through Amazon, and it’s clearly the best 120mm cooler on the market, and quite possibly the best all-around cooler ever released. It’s so good that we’re swapping out our liquid cooler for the Fuma 2 and downsizing our case in the process. Awesome!
Of course, we’ve already added the Fuma 2 to our CPU Cooler Buyer’s Guide. While that guide is updated quarterly, we expect the Fuma 2 to stick around our “best of” list for a very long time – we honestly don’t see anyone being able to beat it any time soon!
