SilverStone Sugo 15 (SG15) Mini-ITX Case Review

Nice looks, multiple configuration options

Decent performance with air cooling, but really needs liquid to shine; expensive

4 out of 5 stars

Since 2013, we’ve reviewed over three dozen cases, including many of the most popular, best-selling mini-ITX cases ever released. Among the great pioneers in the ITX market is without a doubt SilverStone, which has released more mini-ITX cases than any other manufacturer. In fact, this is actually our 11th review of a SilverStone ITX case, and we’ve only scratched the surface of SilverStone’s ITX product catalog! With its new SG15, which we’re reviewing here, SilverStone pushes the limits, creating a sub-20-liter case that can fit all the highest-end gear you could imagine! But what’s it like to use and how does it perform? That’s what we aim to find out, and while in our review of the very similar SG14 we used liquid cooling, this time we’ll see what big air can do!

Special thanks to SilverStone for providing us a sample of the SilverStone SUGO 15 Mini-ITX Chassis.

The SG15 is SilverStone’s attempt to take on the “big” boutique builders, with its premium materials and relatively high price. Overall, we have a hard time justifying the $70 higher price over the SG14, which we liked so much when we tested it. The SG15 certainly looks better, but most builders will probably prefer to throw that extra $70 at a CPU upgrade or a better cooler (specifically, a liquid cooler, which is definitely what we recommend!). Ideally, SilverStone will bring some of the styling and design upgrades from this case over to the SG14, without the premium materials and price!

The SilverStone SG15 is available in either black or silver for around $170 from Amazon.
