Introduction

Since 2013, we’ve reviewed over 30 cases, with 10 of our case reviews focusing on compact mini-ITX models. The market has changed a lot over the past seven years since we started in the review business, with a huge number of “bespoke” manufacturers getting into the ITX arena. A lot of these seemed a little too “kickstarted” to us to warrant a review, but when we came upon Sliger, a well-established metal fabrication company based in Sparks, Nevada, we were intrigued. Here was a company with a long history of success in metalworking, throwing its hat into the PC chassis ring. Very promising! We reached out and were offered up the opportunity to run a worldwide exclusive review of the new Sliger SV590 chassis. So, without further ado, here it is!

Special thanks to Sliger for providing us a sample of the SV590 in black.

TBG’s Video Review

Going forward, all of TBG’s reviews will be released exclusively on YouTube, as video provides far more opportunity to offer details and insight into production design and functionality than a written review ever could.

Conclusion

Sliger has clearly invested a lot of time and energy into shoehorning ultra-high-end components into the ever-smaller cases. There really isn’t anything like the SV590 on the market. With that said, its aesthetics may not be for everyone, and the build process is a bit more complicated than it probably needs to be. The Sliger SV590 is available direct from Sliger in black or gunmetal for $279, or the premium rust patina color for an extra $50. All models include free shipping within the US.

Update: Sliger listened to critics and improved the SV590 with the new SV590 v2, which is what the links above will take you to!
