That sounds like a really useful product - I'm afraid I haven't come across anything like it though! My guess is that the standard mouse interface just can't be converted to take input that is non-linear like that. Essentially it would be like turning off the mouse dragging while still keeping its navigation active. The mouse's position would be registering, but the PC would need to ignore its location until you engaged it again.
In short, square peg, round hole. But if you find anything like this, please post back here!
