I should probably mention that I am opting for the Silverstone GD05B-3.0-USA case.

The HTPC Build / Video Card Option for High End HTPC
« on: August 16, 2019, 07:34:28 AM »
Hi There - I am about to start ordering components for the high end system.. I can save about $40 by going with the ZOTAC Gaming GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB GDDR6 192-bit Gaming Graphics Card Super Compact - ZT-T16610F-10L over the EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti SC Ultra Gaming....

Is the EVGA card worth the extra bucks?

Thanks!

Thank you! I'll be ordering components soon for the high end HTPC.

I appreciate your maintaining that list, much better than other sites and reddit threads I have looked at. Can't wait to get the system up and running.

The HTPC Build / Ballistix substitute?

Hi There - in Canada I can't get the Ballistix 2x8GB Sport LT DDR4-3200 CL16 for 1-2 months, is there a recommendation on a similarly priced set of ram?

Thanks!

The 2700X is on sale for Prime days, but in Canada still $50 more than the 2700. Is it worth it? And do I need a different heatsink than the Noctua NH-L12S?

Thanks!

Home Theater / The right fit - HTPC

Hi There - I am interested in building an HTPC based on the $750 vs $1250 guide. I'm not sure if I need the high end one. I will only be using it to stream HD Netflix and play movie files, upwards of 30GB mkv's. Would the $750 HTPC do the job for me?

Thanks!
